You must travel to Australia before the initial entry date stated on your visa grant letter. If you do not enter Australia by the initial entry date, you will be in breach of visa grant conditions, which may lead to the cancellation of your visa.
What will happen if I'm unable to travel to Australia before the initial entry date on the visa?
In order to activate the visa for its full term (usually 5 years) you must travel to Australia before the expiry of the initial entry date. However, it is not required that you settle permanently in Australia before the expiry of the initial entry date, provided you have made at least one trip to Australia before the initial entry date.
